My Father's Eyes by Sheila AlleeMy Father’s Eyes is the story of Sheila’s friendship with her Uncle Melrose, who lived in a group home sponsored through Bluebonnet Trails. Sheila helped him move to the community after he had lived in state schools for more than 50 years.

In helping her uncle move out of the institution, she thought she was righting a wrong that had been done to him decades earlier when he was sent away from his family. But what really happened was that her Uncle Melrose helped her heal from some deep-seated emotional wounds.
